NCIS: Hawai'i

My move to the world of Costume Design from the 7th Ave Fashion Wars of the late '80's was balm and blessing.  Taken under wing by the troika of designers at the legendary Costume Depot in midtown Manhattan, I was happy to start over, straightening up fitting rooms and fetching coffee for the people who would become my teachers and mentors.  Moving to Los Angeles in 1991 was prophetic, seeing an expansion into designing my own projects. After a dozen of so feature films I landed in the lap of Jerry Bruckheimer Television, working on long running shows, CSI Miami and Without a Trace.  A rescue operation on an ABC series led to on of my favorite costume jobs, designing Castle with a remarkable cast and crew.  Returning to CBS as the lockdown of 2020 ended found me in Hawaii with the newest iteration of NCIS, certainly my favorite of all the filming locations I'd experienced, it was here I hit the landmark of designing my 400th  piece of filmed entertainment.  This roller coaster of good fortune, steeped in the vagaries of the entertainment industry, has been a delightful ride, one for which I'm enormously grateful.                Luke Reichle, Joshua Tree, California.
